Shopify & WordPress Development
Custom WooCommerce development for B2B and complex stores, from developers who maintain a commercial WooCommerce plugin.
What you get
WooCommerce suits businesses that want full control: your own hosting, your own data and the freedom to change almost anything. The catch is that "almost anything" often ends up as a stack of plugins and snippets that conflict, slow the admin down and break on the next update.
Our custom WooCommerce development focuses on the parts that are specific to your business, especially B2B selling. Trade pricing, quote requests, approval workflows, custom checkout fields and ERP integrations are where WooCommerce stores tend to need real engineering rather than another plugin.
We maintain our own WooCommerce plugin, RFQ Pro, for request-a-quote and B2B quotations. Keeping it working across WordPress and WooCommerce releases, High-Performance Order Storage, block-based checkout and many different themes has made us careful about how extensions hook into WooCommerce.
We extend WooCommerce through its supported hooks and APIs, not by editing core or theme files, so your store keeps updating safely. If you need a plugin outside of commerce, see custom WordPress plugin development.
The problem
A common pattern: a B2B store installs one plugin for wholesale pricing, another for quote requests, a third for minimum order quantities and a fourth for custom checkout fields. Each works alone. Together they fight over the same hooks, the checkout slows down, and a WooCommerce update breaks the quote form two days before a trade show.
Other stores hit limits on the data side. Orders need to reach an ERP in a strict format, customer-specific prices live in the ERP rather than in WordPress, or the admin crawls because of years of order data stored in the old post tables.
Custom development does not mean replacing everything. Often the best result is removing several plugins and replacing them with one well-built extension that does exactly what your business needs, alongside the plugins that genuinely work well.
What we build
Customer- or group-specific prices, quantity breaks, hidden prices for guests and restricted catalogs, with prices optionally pulled from your ERP.
Request-a-quote flows, sales-adjusted quotes, approval steps and conversion of accepted quotes into orders. Our RFQ Pro plugin covers many cases; custom work fills the rest.
Custom fields, validation, payment and shipping rules for the block-based Checkout, using the Store API and supported extension points.
Orders, customers and stock synced with NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero or a custom ERP, using background jobs so the storefront stays fast.
Bulk editors, order processing screens and reports tailored to how your team works, so staff stop exporting CSVs to get things done.
Moving to HPOS, cleaning up autoloaded options and slow queries, and replacing heavy plugins with lean custom code where it makes a difference.
Scenarios
Trade buyers request quotes for non-standard quantities. Sales adjust prices and lead times in the admin, the buyer accepts online, and the quote becomes an order with the agreed terms.
A distributor keeps contract prices for each account in its ERP. A nightly sync plus a lookup at cart time shows each logged-in buyer their own price without duplicating thousands of rules in WordPress.
Buyers at large customers can place orders, but anything above a spending limit waits for a manager at that customer to approve it before it reaches the warehouse.
An audit finds overlapping plugins and slow queries. Five plugins are replaced by one focused extension, orders move to HPOS, and the admin becomes usable again.
How we build it
WooCommerce has changed a lot recently. Code written five years ago often assumes things that are no longer true, so we build for how WooCommerce works today.
High-Performance Order Storage moves orders out of the WordPress posts table into dedicated tables. We use the WooCommerce CRUD classes rather than direct post queries, declare HPOS compatibility in the plugin, and test with HPOS both on and off with sync enabled.
Older checkout hooks do not all apply to the block checkout. We use the Store API, checkout block extension points and the Additional Checkout Fields API so customizations work in the checkout WooCommerce now ships by default.
All changes go into a plugin that uses WordPress actions and filters. No edits to WooCommerce core or the parent theme, which means updates keep working and your changes are easy to find.
Integrations run through Action Scheduler or a queue rather than during page loads, so a slow ERP never slows down checkout. External systems talk to the store through the WooCommerce REST API or custom authenticated endpoints.
If you plan to sell the extension, we add licensing and an update mechanism, the same pattern we use for RFQ Pro. For B2B sellers, our wholesale and distribution page covers the wider picture.
FAQ
Yes. We usually start with a short audit of plugins, custom code and hosting so we understand what is there before we change anything. All work is done on staging first.
It depends on your plugins and any custom code that queries orders directly. We check each one, fix or replace incompatible code, and plan the switch so order data stays consistent.
Code that uses supported hooks and APIs is far less likely to break than code that edits core or relies on internal functions. We also test against new WooCommerce releases as part of maintenance plans.
Sometimes, but not by default. WooCommerce makes sense if you need deep customization, own hosting or tight WordPress integration. We build on both platforms, so we can give you a straight comparison for your case.
When it fits, yes, since it can save a lot of build time for quote workflows. If your process needs something different, we build a custom extension or extend RFQ Pro through its hooks.
Tell us what your store sells, who buys from it and what is not working. We will suggest whether the answer is a custom extension, an existing plugin or a cleanup of what you already have.
