1. Overview — how the app works
Synova PDF Catalogue lives inside your Shopify admin. You pick which products to include, choose a designer template, apply your brand kit, and generate a polished PDF. Generation runs in the background, so you can keep working while it renders. When it's ready you can download it or share a link — and that link can double as a wholesale order form or an email lead gate.
There are three outputs from one app: a multi-product catalogue, a single-product brochure, and a wholesale line sheet / price list. Every catalogue is a print-ready PDF.
2. Quick start — five steps to your first catalogue
Most stores publish their first catalogue in under 10 minutes.
Step 1 — Set up your brand
Go to Branding and create a profile: upload your logo and a cover image, set your primary, secondary and accent colours, choose heading and body fonts, and add your contact details (email, phone, WhatsApp, website). Save it once and reuse it on every catalogue. You can skip this and a clean default style is used.
Step 2 — Create a catalogue
Go to Catalogs → Create. Choose what you're making — a full catalogue, a single-product brochure, or a line sheet / price list — then pick your products by collection, tag, vendor, or hand-pick them in the exact order you want.
Step 3 — Choose a template & customise
Pick one of eight designer templates, apply your brand profile, and set the cover (style, image, tagline, logo and QR). Decide what to show — prices or hidden prices, currency, per-product QR codes, SKUs, variants, and product specs from metafields.
Step 4 — Generate the PDF
Click Generate. Rendering runs in the background and usually finishes in about 30 seconds; you'll see progress and can keep working. When it's done, download the print-ready PDF.
Step 5 — Share it
Create a share link. Optionally protect it with a password and an expiry date. Turn on ordering to make it a wholesale order form (submissions arrive as Shopify draft orders), or turn on email capture to collect leads before download.
3. Catalogue types — one app, three outputs
Product catalogue
A multi-product grid grouped by collection, with a cover page, a clickable table of contents, and a back page. The classic seasonal or retail catalogue.
Product brochure
A polished single-product spread: a full-page hero image, a photo gallery, the full description, product specs, and a complete variant and pricing table. Ideal for a hero product, a new launch, or a spec sheet.
Line sheet / price list
Dense B2B tables — one row per variant — with SKU, barcode, price, compare-at price, stock, and a blank Qty column for order-taking. Exactly what wholesale buyers ask for by name.
4. Templates & branding
Eight professionally designed templates, each with its own fonts, colour treatment, cover style and product-card layout: Modern, Luxury, Luxury Dark, Fashion, Industrial, Furniture, Magazine, and Minimal White. All eight are available on every plan.
Your brand kit — logo, cover image, colours, and fonts — is applied consistently across every page. Text stays readable automatically: your brand accent is used where it has enough contrast, with a safe fallback where it doesn't.
5. Choosing & ordering products
- Select products by collection, tag, vendor, or a hand-picked list — or include all products.
- Use the manual picker to search your store and arrange products in the exact order you want (move up / down).
- Apply a sort preset: store order, title A–Z, price low→high, price high→low, or newest first — applied across the catalogue and within each collection.
6. Display & print options
- Price modes: show retail prices, or hide all prices for a request-a-quote catalogue.
- Sale prices: compare-at prices render with the original struck through.
- Multiple currencies with automatic conversion for display.
- Per-product QR codes and clickable product links straight to the product's online page.
- Toggle SKU, barcode, stock, variants, and description.
- Metafield specs: show up to eight product metafields as spec rows — material, dimensions, warranty, care and more.
- Print-ready output: A4 or US Letter, portrait or landscape, bleed and crop marks for print shops, and an image-quality setting for smaller files or full-resolution print.
7. Sharing, ordering & lead capture
Every finished catalogue can be shared as a public link — no login required for your customer.
Protected links
Add an optional password and an expiry date (7 days, 30 days, or never). Every link tracks views and downloads.
Shoppable order forms (B2B)
Turn on ordering and the link becomes a wholesale order form: buyers enter quantities per variant, add their contact details, and submit. You receive a native Shopify draft order — tagged with the catalogue and the sales rep — ready to review and invoice from your admin. No separate wholesale platform needed.
Lead capture
Require an email before download. Leads are collected in the app and can be exported to CSV — turning any catalogue into a top-of-funnel tool.
8. Sales team
Every staff member who opens the app becomes a sales rep automatically. Each rep gets their own catalogues, share links, QR codes, leads and analytics, kept separate from everyone else's. The store owner sees and manages the whole team, and every order and lead is attributed to the rep who created the catalogue.
9. Analytics
The dashboard shows catalogues created, downloads, pages generated, products included and storage used. The analytics page adds a 30-day downloads chart, downloads by catalogue, share-link views and downloads, orders submitted, and leads captured — with CSV export.
10. Keeping catalogues up to date
When a product changes in Shopify, any catalogue that used it is flagged Outdated. Regenerate it with one click, or set auto-refresh to daily or weekly so shared links always reflect current products and prices.
11. Plans & limits
Paid plans include a 7-day free trial. Every plan includes all eight templates and every feature — plans differ only by volume and the free-plan watermark.
| Plan | Price | Catalogues / month | Products / catalogue | Watermark |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 1 | 20 | Yes |
| Pro | $12 / mo | 25 | 500 | No |
| Unlimited | $29 / mo | Unlimited | Unlimited | No |
12. Security, privacy & compliance
- Each store's data is fully isolated — never visible to another merchant.
- Product content is sanitised before rendering, and catalogue rendering is network-restricted so nothing leaks.
- Password-protected links use strong hashing; download links are short-lived and signed.
- Mandatory Shopify privacy/GDPR webhooks are implemented; customer data is handled responsibly and removed on uninstall.
