Most supplier-feed apps in the Shopify ecosystem do the same core job: fetch a file and write stock and prices. The differences that actually protect your store are easy to miss on a feature list, so here's what to evaluate before you commit.
A number-only "sync complete" tells you nothing. You want a per-SKU change list — what changed, from what to what, how many went to zero — before anything is written. Dry-run-by-default is the difference between catching a bad file and explaining one to a customer.
The single most valuable feature is a set of guardrails: abort if too much of the catalog changes, if too many products zero out, if the file shrank dramatically, or if a price is implausible. Ask whether these exist and whether they're on by default.
Even with previews, mistakes happen. One-click rollback that restores every changed value — and logs the rollback itself — beats scrambling to re-import a corrected file.
Watch for per-SKU tiers and per-order fees that punish growth. Flat pricing with unlimited SKUs is far easier to reason about.
